The City of Chicago legalized ADU’s and Coach Houses in 5 select Pilot Zones

There are some different rules and regulations that vary by zones.

In 2020, Evanston legalized ADU’s and coach house throughout the city.  If you own a property in Evanston, it almost certainly qualifies.

Oak Park allows ADU’s and Coach Houses on all properties that contain owner occupied single family residences with lot sizes 6500 square feet.
